STORYLINE

This issue opens with the introduction of the first 6 characters to appear.  Professor X mentally calls the X-Men to a training session.  We get to see the first four members of the team appear and start their training, showing us their abilities and how they are learning to work together.  After a while, Xavier calls the session to a halt, informing the team that Jean Grey has arrived.  They move upstairs to introduce themselves, and while showing Jean what they can do, she reveals her telekinesis.

The story then moves to Magneto, and how he destroys the latest rocket that the military was testing.  The next day he targets a military base from afar and orders them to surrender, after that he takes control of a missile and launches it and causes it to fall into the sea.  Finally he appears at the base himself and proceeds to take over the base.

Xavier hears the news on the radio and sends the X-Men to battle him.  They manage to defeat him, but he gets away.
